A PCBA quotation is more accurate when engineering files describe both the board and the assembly process. Gerber or source PCB files show board structure, while the BOM, placement coordinates and assembly drawing tell the factory how components should be sourced and mounted.

For projects that require programming, functional testing, conformal coating or finished product assembly, those requirements should be included before quoting. They affect fixture planning, labor arrangement, inspection records and delivery schedule.
